Supernatural Season 15, Episode 4 airs on Thursday night. What can we expect from the episode? Here’s a breakdown of the promo.

After a week off, Supernatural returns with Season 15, Episode 4. Titled “Atomic Monsters,” the synopsis doesn’t give us too much to work with. Does the promo help any better?

It’s time to break down the promo to see what we can expect in the episode. Here are my five top takeaways.

Before we get into the breakdown of the promo, here’s a look at the promo and synopsis for Supernatural Season 15, Episode 4.

"Sam and Dean investigate the mysterious death of a girl and the disappearance of another."

1. It looks like a case of a vampire

The glimpse of the monster that we get looks like vampires. It’s been a while since the show has included them in the story, so it will be nice to get back to something that feels like a flashback to the first season. However, I get the feeling there’s more to this vampire.

2. Expect plenty of “old man” references

More from Supernatural

The Winchesters are heading back to high school during this episode. It’s pretty standard in these types of episodes to get plenty of “old man” references. Many of them will comment on how Dean’s music is out of style (it can never be out of style) or that the two brothers aren’t hip enough. Of course, Dean always gets offended. I expected nothing less from the show in this episode.

3. It’s a monster-of-the-week episode

This certainly looks like the first monster-of-the-week episode of Supernatural Season 15. We know that for the first couple of days, neither Jensen Ackles or Jared Padalecki were filming, but that doesn’t mean other main characters are involved. It’s certainly possible that the main focus was on some of the opening scenes that don’t involve the Winchesters or possibly on a storyline with God and Amara. Whatever the case, this is mostly monster-of-the-week.

4. The Winchesters seem focused in the hunt

After the focus on putting the souls back into Hell and losing some of their friends, the Winchesters think they’ve stopped their last apocalypse. And what do they do next? They get back into the hunt. After all, there are still plenty of monsters and creatures out there. It looks like the brothers just want to get focused back on saving people again.

5. There’s got to be more to the case

Is this case really going to be as simple as it looks? Right now, it looks like the Winchesters will hunt down a vampire and kill it. Honestly, though, with the title “Atomic Monsters,” I have to question the simplicity of the episode. I get the feeling this is just a glimpse.
