Supernatural has 19 more episodes left but there are plenty of theories on how it could all end. One of those theories is about Sam and a cosmic link to God.

Every season, we open Supernatural with a lot of questions. Immediately, there are plenty of theories that develop. After the Season 15 premiere, there’s one theory doing the rounds. Is it possible that Sam Winchester has a cosmic link to God?

As a word of caution, there are spoilers in this post from the Supernatural Season 15 premiere.

When God gave the Winchesters The Equalizer, he made it clear that the shooter would die just like the shootee. It wasn’t surprising to see Sam end up with a bullet wound to the shoulder after he shot Chuck, mimicking the wound that God should have gained. However, this is God and he didn’t die from the gun. That means Sam wouldn’t die either.

Yet, God pointed something else out when it came to this gun. He said it would create a cosmic link between the two people. That suggests that Sam is linked to God.

The link could certainly explain the vision that Sam received when Castiel tried to heal the wound. He looked like Samifer or Soulless Sam, not caring about his brother collapsing and even potentially being the one to cause the collapse.

This could also link to how Sam is the one to kill Rowena. We know that Rowena has a spell that will bring her back from the dead. It even brought her back from being burned to a crisp by Lucifer. How is it possible that a man would be able to kill her? It would take something stronger than Lucifer, something like God, Amara, or the Cosmic Entity, right?

That could mean Sam now that he’s linked to God. Maybe Sam doesn’t just have these visions. It’s possible that he also has some of God’s powers or he can connect to some of God’s powers. This could allow him to kill God, but it could also allow him to kill Rowena should the time come. And I’m a little worried that the time may come if Rowena ends up absorbed by the spirits of Hell in Episode 3 (but that’s just a theory of mine based on one of the Episode 3 images).

Sam may not even be able to control all his actions. Is it possible that God could now act through Sam? Could we see Sam possessed but not possessed at the same time, mind-controlled to do God’s will?

We’re certainly heading down a dark rabbit hole here of theories. There has to be something about that gunshot wound, and I have a feeling we’ll start to learn more about it in the next few episodes of Supernatural Season 15.
