The penultimate episode of Supernatural Season 6 forced Dean to make an impossible decision. Here’s a look back at the best lines from the episode.

Whether you agree with what Dean did or not in Supernatural Season 6, Episode 21, it was clear he found himself in an impossible place. We also got more development on the current frenemy relationship between Castiel and Crowley.

There were some excellent lines from “Let It Bleed.” Here are my five favorites.

Lovecraft tried to jimmy a damn dimensional door. Idjit.

I just love how matter-of-factly Bobby says this line. If it was any other show, we’d be questioning the sanity of the guy to say it in this way. However, the idea of jimmying a dimensional door is nothing too out of the ordinary.

Plus, we got the “Idjit” at the end.

Drinking your feelings Sam? I thought that was your brother’s bag?

Balthazar brings us an interesting point, one that should have had us worrying a lot more than we possibly were. Sam never drinks his feelings.

However, we knew that there was something far more serious happening. The stressful situation wasn’t just dealing with Castiel, Crowley, and the possibility of purgatory. It was everything going on with the aftermath of getting his soul back and the wall.

Don’t worry, I won’t hurt them. Provided you and Jolly Green stand down.

Crowley immediately took to making jokes about Sam’s height. He started using the term “Moose,” but “Jolly Green” was a reference to the Green Giant. However, that’s not why I love this line so much.

There’s a deal within this line. He promises to let Lisa and Ben go if the Winchesters are willing to step down. We know that Crowley was the King of the Crossroads at one time. He’d honor that deal. It’s funny how it’s the Winchesters who never would (although I don’t blame them for not making it).

I’d rather ask forgiveness than permission.

We spend a lot of time asking for permission to do things. But what about just asking for forgiveness. Of course, there are some things that we shouldn’t do regardless. But there are times that it’s better for us and the world to do things without permission and ask for the forgiveness after the fact.

This line also shows us just how far Castiel has come. Back in the fourth season, he wouldn’t have even considered doing something without permission or orders. Gaining free will led to Castiel becoming this.

You ever mention Lisa and Ben to me again and I’ll break your nose.

Finally, it’s Dean’s line. Deep down, he knows that he was wrong. But he doesn’t want to even talk about that, and I couldn’t really blame him. He did what he felt like he had to do at the time.

What I do love about this line is that Sam takes his brother seriously. It’s not the fact that he’ll get his nose broken, but he can see how much it hurts Dean to have done this.
