It was a case of the fairies in Supernatural Season 6, Episode 9. Here’s a look back at the episode with my five favorite lines.

Supernatural introduced fairies, elves, and leprechauns in Season 6, Episode 9 — and not the leprechauns of American Gods. In today’s look back at the episode, I’m sharing my five favorite lines. Oh, this was hard to cut down for “Clap Your Hands If You Believe.”

Okay, if you want to add glitter to that glue you’re sniffing, that’s fine, but don’t dump your whackadoo all over us. We’d rather not step in it.

Sam Winchester had a way with lines when he didn’t have a soul. He just told it like it was, without caring what other people thought. He didn’t care about hurting feelings. And this line was one of those that just made me laugh out loud.

Naturally, it was something Dean was likely thinking too. In fact, a few seasons ago, Dean would have possibly even said it. However, he’s the one with the empathy that Sam didn’t have at this point, giving us a fun character switch without the actual character switch.

It’s fine. I mean, I’ve had time to adjust.

This line is made all the more better because Sam points out that the abduction happened just a few hours ago. This wouldn’t usually be time to adjust but this is Sammy without a soul. He’d already told Dean in the previous episode that he didn’t care about his brother. We got confirmation of that during the Twilight-inspired episode.

Yet, I also think that Sam would just deal with things even if he did have his soul. Sam is practical. He can keep the emotion out a lot of the time, and he’d focus on getting Dean back without going too off the rails at this point.

I went crazy. I started hacking and slashing and firing. They actually seemed surprised. I don’t think anybody’s ever done that before.

Ah, Dean doing what Dean does best. He shot first and asked questions later, sort of. This has always been the Dean way and it’s a part of him that I never want to see change.

I’d be interested in knowing if this was the exact reason Dean managed to get away. Although, I do have to question why nobody else lashed out like this. Even without the hunter background, I’d be lashing out if someone abducted me.

Fight the fairies. You fight those fairies. Fight the fairies!!

This has to be one of the most memorable lines from Supernatural Season 6, Episode 9. To the outsiders, it does sound like Dean is a homophobe, especially linked to the attack on the man earlier in the episode. However, he’s just focused on the case and going a little crazy with it.

Sam knows exactly what Dean means but shows no emotion at all. I just love the way that Dean relies on his brother to deal with the situation. Even without a soul, Dean knows that Sam will be a hunter.

It was a deal. When’s a deal ever been a good thing?

This line stands out for me because it’s always had me in two minds. Dean even double checks on why Sam said no to the deal. Because, deep down, we feared there was a reason for this — a reason linked to Sam not wanting his soul back. Despite knowing that being without a soul was a bad thing, it was clear that Sam liked the way he was as a hunter.

However, we also knew that Sam was right. Making a deal isn’t a good thing. The Winchesters have seen that multiple times. But the line still had me on the fence about Sam.
