Jared Padalecki talks Jeffrey Dean Morgan returning for Supernatural Season 15
Supernatural Season 15 is the end and that means there’s a huge wishlist for the fans. One of those is Jeffrey Dean Morgan returning and Jared Padalecki considers it a possibility.
If you could have one thing to happen in Supernatural Season 15, what would it be? For some fans, it would be Jeffrey Dean Morgan returning, once again, as John Winchester. It’s not the first time this has come up and it won’t be the last, but now Jared Padalecki has weighed in on the idea.
While Morgan has said previously that he would be interested in reprising the role of John Winchester in the final season, Padalecki admits that it will depend on the storyline. If it’s good for the story, then great. However, this isn’t something that can happen just for the sake of it.

In fact, Padalecki shares that if the 300th episode is the last time we see John Winchester then he’s happy with that. The send-off for the character was excellent and both Winchester brothers got the closure they needed. At least, that’s his opinion during an interview with TVLine.
That doesn’t mean he wouldn’t welcome Morgan back with open arms. The cast and crew are like a family. Padalecki has previously talked about how those who no longer want to be part of the show have gone and that’s okay — he and Jensen Ackles want the people who want to be on the show to be there.
Morgan certainly still has a good relationship with Padalecki and Ackles, and even the showrunners. If the writers can figure out a good reason to bring him back then great, but if not, I agree with Padalecki. The 300th episode was a good send-off.
