Will Supernatural Season 15 go to Netflix?

The CW broke the news that it wasn’t renewing its Netflix deal this year. That means shows won’t automatically end up on Netflix. What does this mean for Supernatural Season 15 this time next year?

When The CW announced that it hadn’t renewed its deal with Netflix, there was a sense of disappointment and confusion. Why not renew a deal that had been doing so well for the network and what does this mean for the CW shows? Will Supernatural Season 15 go onto the service this time next year?

WarnerMedia had already warned us that the renewal wasn’t going to happen. It wasn’t just up to The CW, but the production studios too. The CW shows are either Warner Bros. Studios or CBS Studios productions and WarnerMedia wants its own productions to go to its own streaming service later this year or early next year.

We might see the Warner Bros. Studios shows leaving Netflix over the next few months. Supernatural is one of those productions so we might see it exit Netflix U.S. (it’s already left the majority of the international Netflix services). It will be one of the shows on the WarnerMedia service.

What about Supernatural Season 15? I doubt we’ll see that season head to Netflix next year. While Netflix could attempt to bid for it, I have a feeling that it will only be available to stream as part of a package on the WarnerMedia streaming service. The only reason this wouldn’t happen is if WarnerMedia finds its streaming platform isn’t working.

However, we should find that the show is available to purchase digitally through the likes of Amazon Video and iTunes. This will be something to look out for closer to October when the season premieres.
