Ten Inch Hero remains a timely classic that everyone needs to watch

Ten Inch Hero stars Jensen Ackles, Danneel Ackles, Elizabeth Harnois, and many more familiar faces. It’s a movie you need to watch, standing the test of time to bring a beautiful story.

On April 25, 2007, Ten Inch Hero debuted. Many Supernatural fans will have watched it at least once — and when you watch it once, you’ll watch it over and over again. It remains a timely classic, whether you initially only watched it for one of the stars or because of the overall message.

There are a few reasons Supernatural fans will have checked it out. The main one is that Jensen Ackles stars as Priestly, who is covered in tattoos, dyes his hair many colors, and has some of the funniest, inappropriate slogans on his T-shirts. However, it’s not just for his character you’ll want to watch. This was the movie that brought Ackles and his wife, Danneel, together. They’d already been friends, but this movie offered them the chance to give their relationship a go.

While you’ll likely watch it for Ackles at first — although, as a One Tree Hill fan first, I watched it for Danneel and Elisabeth Harnois first — there are many more reasons Ten Inch Hero is a must watch. This movie may have been made in 2007, but there are messages that are just as important today.

One of those messages is actually from the Ackleses. Danneel’s character Tish is a strong and independent woman who loves to enjoy herself in the bedroom. She hasn’t settled down and is instantly attracted to good looking guys. However, it’s soon clear that not all good looking guys are sweet and kind.

Priestly is the one who helps to show that it’s more than just about looks. However, he has his own issues and insecurities, which can lead to miscommunication and lack of honesty.

Then there’s Harnois’ storyline. Piper is a young woman who gave her daughter up for adoption. She’s moved into the area believing that she’s finally found her daughter, but she’s not honest about the situation. While this storyline is, for the most part, easy to guess, it still has an important and sweet message behind it.

Finally, Clea DuVall has a storyline that will draw you in. She’s been speaking to someone online and that someone wants to meet her face-to-face. It’s another focus on looks, personality, and more.

Within each of the storylines, there’s a focus on truth and honesty. There’s a touch of being yourself and opening up to people. You also won’t want to miss the message of friendship and family — it doesn’t end with blood even with Ten Inch Hero.
