Supernatural on Netflix: What does WarnerMedia’s streaming service mean?
You can currently watch Supernatural on Netflix U.S. How long will that last? What could the WarnerMedia mean for the show’s streaming potential?
If you currently watch Supernatural on Netflix, you may want to rethink your options. It could be one of the CW shows that will be leaving at some point in the future. I’m not saying this to scare you but to make you aware of the plans for WarnerMedia’s streaming service.
While the streaming service still has no name, Warner Bros. is looking at the release towards the end of the year. During the TCAs, Warner Bros. announced that Friends and some of the CW shows would leave Netflix in the future.

TVLine reports that The Flash and Arrow were among the shows mentioned but there are other CW shows that are Warner Bros. owned and Supernatural is one of them. Warner Bros. doesn’t think that licensing the shows out to other streaming services will be a viable option — after all, why get WarnerMedia service when the shows are on Netflix? — so the plan is to remove once the licenses are up for renewal.
This could mean the Winchesters head over to the new streaming service. That would mean paying for another service monthly if you want to watch in the same way you currently do now — and it’s not clear yet if the seasons would be available eight days after the finale like they currently are.
The licensing deal comes to an end this spring. That means we may not even see Season 14 make it to the streaming service. And there’s currently nowhere else for the show to go.
If you want to keep watching in your own time, owning the Blu-rays may be the way to go. At least then you’re just paying the once and don’t need to worry about any further monthly costs or changes to the services.
