How did Dark!Kaia expect to protect her family in the Winchester’s world?

Dark!Kaia admitted to Dean and Castiel that she has family in her world but that she was also running from monsters. How did she expect to protect her family by running to another world in Supernatural?

In Supernatural Season 14, Episode 9, Dark!Kaia gave up her spear temporarily. With the promise it would be returned and she’d get back home, she admitted that she had family back in the world she left. But there seems to be a huge plothole in this one scene.

Before admitting she had family back in The Bad Place — or whatever world she calls home — she also admitted that she was running from monsters. She wanted back into the world with her monsters because they made sense, but why would she have left the people she cared about? Why head to another world when you’re not sure you have a way back?

Maybe Dark!Kaia assumed she did have a way back. She did also share that her magic didn’t work in the Winchesters’ world. It’s possible she was planning on getting a few tools or gathering some sort of magical items to take back to her world with her. Then she realized she was stuck, so had to go on the run from the monsters after her in this new world.

It’s the only explanation I can come up with. Otherwise, she left her family to face off against the monsters in The Bad Place. She ran and now she’s regretting that choice because she’s not powerful enough in this world.

We’ll have to wait and see what’s going to happen next. Dark!Kaia will likely show up again so she can learn her spear has been broken. Then there’s the promise Dean made knowing he couldn’t keep it to get her back home. It’s all got to come back to bite him and Castiel and maybe we’ll find out exactly what Dark!Kaia was thinking.

Of course, it could just be one of those Supernatural questions we’re left wondering about forever.
