Supernatural may be on its winter break, but we have a teaser for the midseason premiere. Here’s what to take away from the Supernatural Season 14, Episode 10 teaser.

The Winchesters and co. have gone off on their winter break. Not back until the new year, we’ll need to find something else to do on Thursday nights. The good news is there’s a teaser for Supernatural Season 14, Episode 10.

With a teaser, we can get an idea of the things to come in the midseason premiere. There are no images of synopsis yet, but this teaser has plenty of hints at what Sam and Castiel will do next to save Dean from Michael.

For those who haven’t seen the most recent episode yet, I recommend checking it out or reading this review. Now you can watch the teaser.

Let’s be honest; this is an awesome teaser. Here are the top five takeaways for “Nihilism.”

5. This Michael is like our own

More from Supernatural

“Dean isn’t home right now.” If you thought that sounded familiar, there’s one good reason for it. Apocalypse Michael and our own Michael aren’t as different as you would think. The line was said in the Supernatural Season 5 finale.

“Adam isn’t home right now” was something our Michael said in Stull Cemetery. And it’s clear that this Micheal means business.

4. Somehow Sam, Cass, and Jack overpower Michael!Dean

The opening of the Supernatural Season 14, Episode 10 teaser shows that Michael is somehow overpowered. The cuffs are on and whatever Apocalypse Bobby did worked to keep the archangel down.

What’s interesting is that this takes place in the building they were all in during the fall finale. This means it doesn’t take long for Sam, Jack, and Cass to overpower Michael and get the cuffs on. Just how can the three of them do this?

However, there’s an important thing to consider: Michael!Dean is wearing different clothes. So, does this mean there’s actually a change of scenery and they just look the same?

3. Dean is stuck in a bar somewhere

Michael has managed to push Dean somewhere into a corner of his mind. This time, we’ll get to see a little more of what Dean is doing inside his mind and it looks like he’s running a bar and fighting monsters — or drunks; that part’s not clear yet.

Regardless, Michael has carved out part of Dean’s mind for him. Was this to make Dean think he’s actually doing something in the real world? After all, Gadreel mentioned that he made Sam think that he and Dean were on hunts in Supernatural Season 9 and Castiel was in the bunker watching TV when Lucifer took over. It’s possible Michael has found the perfect way to keep Dean preoccupied.

2. Sam and Cass will do what it takes to get Dean back

With Michael!Dean back at the bunker, Sam is going to do what it takes to get his brother back. That means heading into Dean’s mind, in a similar way that Dean went into Mary’s mind in Season 12.

Castiel goes with him, but what exactly do they find there? Well, darkness; complete darkness. There are a few theories of what this means. Personally, I just think that most of Dean’s mind has been shut off. It’s not like Michael needs it and he’s put Dean in a particular corner that Sam and Castiel will need to find.#

They eventually find him because there’s a shot of Castiel being thrown across the bar floor — that bar looks very similar to the one in the Season 14 premiere, hinting that Michael!Dean may have been there to speak to Kip.

1. Jack is holding down the fort

While all this happens, it looks like Jack is the one in charge in the bunker. There’s a moment he holds out his hand, almost like he’s trying to use his powers to protect someone or something.

Michael!Dean looks a little to smug when sitting in the chair and hooked up to the mind-meld machine. Is it possible that Michael knows he can overpower it all and is just playing the game for bigger rewards?

There are so many theories of what’s to come in Supernatural Season 14, Episode 10. The teaser gives us a hint but what do you take away from it? Share in the comments below.

Supernatural Season 14, Episode 10 airs on Jan. 17 at 8/7c on The CW.
