On the 13th Day of Sam-mas, SPN Hunters is bringing three Jared Padalecki movies that are a must-watch at least once. Are you ready for more Sammy on your screen?

If you follow the SPN Hunters Twitter account (hint, hint, give us a follow!) then you’ll know that I apologized for the lack of 25 Days of Sam-mas (and Jared Padalecki) yesterday. It wasn’t intentional or planned. With the Supernatural Season 14 fall finale and the news John Winchester is coming back, my schedule got completely messed around.

Today, I’ll bring two days of Sam-mas. Nope, I’m not joining them together. You’re getting two separate posts today. The first is right now and it’s all about Jared Padalecki’s movies.

More from Supernatural

He’s been in so much and I originally thought about doing a post about the movies and shows you’ve forgotten he was in. Then I realized I’ve already done that! Yep, there’s a #FlashbackFriday post all about the movies many people forget Padalecki was in.

So, instead, I’m focusing on three that are a must-watch at least once. You’ll get to see a different side to Padalecki; a different character other than Sammy while still feeling like you’re watching your favorite Winchester brother. Here are the three movies I think you need to watch (and yes, I’ve watched them more than once).

Friday the 13th

As much as I dislike horror movie reboots, there’s something about this version of Friday the 13th that is worth the watch. Okay, I originally only watched it for Jared Padalecki. He was able to film it because of the writer’s strike in 2008, along with Jensen Ackles doing My Bloody Valentine so there was more Winchester on screens in 2009.

Based on the original movie, Padalecki plays Clay Miller, the brother of Whitney who went up to Camp Crystal Lake with her friends. When she doesn’t return and isn’t reachable, Clay goes on a mission to find her. They soon run into Jason Voorhees, who isn’t willing to let anyone go.

House of Wax

I promise the three movies aren’t all horror movies (although he’s done a lot), but House of Wax is one of Jared’s most famous movies. Also starring Chad Michael Murray, Elisha Cuthbert, and Paris Hilton, it’s another reboot of an old-school horror movie. While not as good as the original, this is a tale that will leave you creeped out and wary of small towns that appear deserted.

Jared Padalecki plays Wade, boyfriend of Elisha Cuthbert’s Carly. When the two along with their friends and Carly’s twin brother Nick (Chad Michael Murray) head off on a road trip, they end up running into car trouble. That takes them to a sleepy town that is made of wax.

Like, literally! You’ll get that reference when you watch it.

If you have the DVD, check out the commentary with Padalecki, Murray, and Hilton. They add another layer to the movie.

New York Minute

For those who need a rom-com, it’s time to turn your attention to New York Minute. Starring the Olsen twins, it’s a typical chick flick with plenty of laughter, emotion, and fun. Jared Padalecki has a minor role in the movie, as it’s mostly about Jane and Roxy Ryan, Long Island twins who end up on a misadventure in Manhatten.

Padalecki plays Trey, the son of a powerful senator who ends up mixed up with the twins when his dog swallows a chip. Oh, and the twins run into his parents along the way. This 2004 movie is something to put on when you want to sit back and just relax, smiling every time Sammy (well, Trey) turns up on screen.
