Supernatural: Jensen Ackles reveals what it was like playing Michael and teases future
By Callum Gunn
Jensen Ackles had to play a different character at the start of Supernatural Season 14. Something that was not easy for fans. He has now revealed what is was like for him, and teases the future of Michael!Dean.
We all knew it was coming at the start of Season 14, but that didn’t make it any easier for fans. Watching Jensen Ackles play as someone other than Dean Winchester in Supernatural was just outright difficult with many fans wanting him back to normal as soon as possible.
Well if it makes you feel any better it was no easy picnic for him either. During a convention, Jensen Ackles spoke about what it was like playing the archangel, Michael

He revealed that it was terrifying playing Michael during a panel at the SPN Jacksonville convention. Fans will probably be glad to hear that he was just as terrified as some of the fans were during his time as Michael!Dean.

Ackles experience was probably more about playing a new character altogether, understandable considering how long he has played the same character for, were as fans were terrified because it wasn’t Dean. However, the most notable point was what he revealed at the end, explaining that it’s done just yet.
We have been speculating for a little while about whether Michael was gone for good or not. Confirmation was already given that he was gone from Dean, but not gone for good. Looking at what Jensen Ackles has said, it gives the idea that he will be Michael!Dean again.
An idea which we have been tossing around for a while as well is that Michael no longer needs Dean’s permission anymore and can use the vessel whenever he feels like it. It’s some food for thought about the future of Dean in Supernatural. We will have to wait and see what happens but don’t be surprised if we see Michael!Dean come back.
