We’re returning to Nick’s storyline on Supernatural Season 14 this week. Is it possible Lucifer is still somewhere in there?

Nick is back in Supernatural this week. Episode 7 will see him continue the search for those who killed his wife and son. However, there’s a big question still hanging over the former archangel vessel. Is Lucifer is still somewhere in there?

The show has certainly set up the idea that Lucifer is definitely gone. He was killed by Michael!Dean at the end of the last season. We’ve seen Nick talk to Sam and Castiel about the archangel that once took over his body. But it doesn’t stop us questioning what’s really going on inside Nick.

Let’s not forget that Castiel flinched at one point. While angry, Nick suddenly snapped his fingers. There was a look we’ve gotten used to for years on Mark Pellegrino’s face. That look of an angry Lucifer using his power to just snap his foe away. Castiel saw it, too.

Of course, Castiel pointed out that Lucifer may have affected Nick’s psyche. Castiel doesn’t seem to believe that Lucifer is in there but is sure that Lucifer has done something to who Nick is as a person.

Later, Nick killed his neighbor in cold blood. There was another look that was so purely Lucifer that it’s hard to overlook the idea that Lucifer is still somewhere in there. If not purely Lucifer, an element of Lucifer’s grace has still be left behind.

I don’t think this is an answer we’ll get in the next episode. It’s clear that there’s still some Nick in there and he’s on his mission to find the killer. What’s going to be curious is whether Lucifer is still somewhere within.

Maybe it’s deep within, a little like Voldemort on the back of Professor Quirrell’s head in Harry Potter. Lucifer is biding his time to build up strength again. After all, we’ve never seen a vessel survive being stabbed by an angel blade. Even those possessed by other archangels haven’t been saved before. So, why would Lucifer/Nick be any different?
