Supernatural conventions are excellent for fans meeting each other and hearing the stars of the show chat about their memories. They have also been the home of some of the most memorable moments in history. Here are 10 Supernatural convention moments all fans should watch.

If you’ve never been to a Supernatural convention, you’re not alone! I’ve never been to one that’s purely Supernatural. I’ve been to other conventions around the world, though. And I’ve watched videos and looked through photos of all the things that have happened.

Over the years, I have a collection of videos saved and bookmarked from others that are my go-to when I need cheering up. The stars of the show will often share their memories, talk about favorite monsters and storylines, and tease things that are about to come in the future–that latter isn’t often but every now and then.

More from Supernatural

There are 10 Supernatural conventions that are classics for the SPN Family. Whether you been to a con or not, these 10 are the ones you need to watch in your own time.

When I went to write this, I ran into a blank. There are just so many moments. So, I put a call out to the awesome SPN Family for convention moments they thought should make the list. Ones that I’ve pulled out are credited to the Twitter handles that shared them.

10. Meeting Lilith

The first is from Toronto in 2017 (I can’t believe next year will be the last Toronto convention!) and it involves a question from a young fan with a very familiar name.

Lilith wants to know what Jensen and Jared’s favorite monster is. Of course, before she can get to the question, there are reactions from the two actors upon the name, with Jensen even telling her she has a pretty dress.

This moment is adorable and shows that kids do attend these events.

9. The train story

How many of you have heard “the train story?” That’s something Richard Speight Jr. wants to know in this Supernatural convention moment from Jus in Bello 7.

Even if you have heard the story, you’ll want to watch this convention moment. This time saw Genevieve Padalecki take to the stage to share her version of the story, because there are three sides to every story! This is one of those moments that will take a while, but you won’t regret watching the whole video.

8. The Harlem Shake

During Jus In Bello 5, one fan brought up “The Harlem Shake.” Of course, that led into a bit of dancing on the stage. It all starts off fairly calm and fun, with Jensen does his usual thing and some “dad dancing” from Misha. Then Ty Olsson and Matt Cohen step it up a notch by running in.

The fan from Naples more than likely wasn’t expecting that experience during her panel question. It’s certainly one for her to rewatch and lot and one for the rest of the SPN Family to check out.

Thanks to @SuperWhoLokiann for this one.

7. The broken tambourine

During TorCon 2015, we got a look at some of the items Jared Padalecki has broken that belong to Louden Swain. The tambourine was the latest and it became a running gag throughout the J2 panel of the event.

This is also known as “blame it on the musk,” so you’ll need to watch it all the way through to understand the full connection. By the way, you’ll also see what the two think about “after Supernatural.”

Thanks to Nerds and Beyond Staff Writer Sarah (@WyldeFandom) for this one. I’d never seen that one before now!

6. JJ’s time out

I can’t figure out which con this was from, but Jensen Ackles shares one of the times his daughter JJ went into time out…voluntarily. For any parent, this is a nightmare. A child should not mind going into time out. That stops it being a punishment! Jensen is able to see the funny side of it now.

This was one that I just happened to come across while searching for other moments. It got me as a parent.

5. Misha Collins talks Charlie’s death

One of the worst things to happen on Supernatural was in Season 10 when Charlie was killed off. There are various reasons we were upset there is a convention moment when one fan asked Jeremy Carver about Charlie’s death at SDCC and the cast turned their back on him. While that was funny, I found this meaningful, beautiful moment from Misha that I believe supersedes the humor of the other.

Misha shares the importance of Charlie’s character (and the fact that being gay didn’t define her) but also the importance of her death. I’m still bitter about the way Charlie was killed off, but I appreciate Misha’s thoughts on the subject.

4. Rob’s stroke kit

For those who weren’t aware, a few years ago Rob Benedict suffered a stroke. Fortunately, he received treatment right away but it’s something that was on the minds of the SPN Family at SPN Dallas in 2014, which coincided with Rob’s birthday.

The cast got together and gave him a “Stroke Kit” for his birthday. This is one of those Supernatural convention moments you need to watch, as you see them be serious and funny all at the same time. Plus, you see just how close they all are.

Thank you to @BethanLeM for this convention moment.

3. Jared Padalecki playing guitar on stage

For years, we’ve watched Jensen Ackles get on stage and sing. We’ve never seen Jared Padalecki step out of his comfort zone properly in that way. This happened in Hawaii last December. In fact, we even covered what this meant for Jared and the message he was sending across to fans–fight that anxiety!

@DeanIsntFine reminded me of this moment when I put out the call for Supernatural convention moments. I hadn’t seen a video of this online at the time, but now there is one. Woop! You can relive this beautiful moment.

2. Mark Sheppard is speechless

When @SuperWhoLokiann shared this one, I was intrigued. After meeting Mark Sheppard at C2E2, I couldn’t possibly see anyone make him speechless. Can you?

Well, this is the funniest convention moment going and you most certainly need to check it out. He meets a young girl named Piper, who isn’t afraid to butter him up before leaving him in tears of laughter for all the right reasons. I won’t tell you why he’s left speechless, because you need to get this without spoilers.

1. Always Keep Fighting tealights

At SDCC 2015, Supernatural fans got together in the most epic way possible. For years, Jared Padalecki has suffered with clinical depression. His fight has inspired many others in the SPN Family and it’s clear he has the support of his fellow cast members. During this convention moment, it was also clear he had the support of fans.

After setting up his Always Keep Fighting campaign, fans gathered tealights and lit them up during the Supernatural video included is an edited down version SDCC panel. The of the panel to focus on this beautiful moment that touched the heart of the whole cast and crew. Below is the full SDCC 2015 panel.

This was a moment suggested by so many people on Twitter. It was also always the one that was going to be my top one, even if it’s from SDCC and not a specific Supernatural convention.
