Supernatural’s DJ Qualls will return to The Man in the High Castle
We know him as Garth, but DJ Qualls goes by Ed in The Man in the High Castle. The good news for the alternate history series fans is that Ed is back.
News surrounding The Man in the High Castle Season 3 has been minimal. While we knew to expect Rufus Sewell and Alexa Davalos back in the series, side characters have been questionable. One of those side characters was Ed McCarthy played by Supernatural‘s DJ Qualls.
The prolific actor has been in the series from the very beginning in a recurring role. He is colleague and friend to Frank Frink, and therefore friend to Frank’s girlfriend (at the start of the series, anyway) Julianna Crane.

While he’s been in the odd episode of the first two seasons, we didn’t know if he’d definitely be in the third. Well, a promotional photo makes it very clear that he is.
Ed is stood with Robert Childan (Brennan Brown) in the middle of the field. Considering the events from the Season 2 finale, it looks like Ed is going to take Frank’s place in a way. Can Ed make replicas as good as Frank though? Is it that position or is this linked to everything against the Japanese at the end of the second season?

The Man in the High Castle Season 3 sees the resistance rising. Ed could certainly be a part of that. He’s a loyal friend, which has often gotten him in trouble through absolutely no fault of his own. Hopefully, he’s not going to get himself into anymore this season! Although if he does, could we get our Garth back?
