Why Netflix should pick up Wayward Sisters
By Callum Gunn
Wayward Sisters needs a home. We don’t want it shelved. Netflix is one that people are calling for and really the streaming giants should pick it up.
Wayward Sisters is still not going ahead. The news broke at the tail end of last week and as things stand right now. It is done. It is officially not happening.
But that’s the now. Calls are being made, petitions are being signed and I am sure you have seen #SaveWayward at least once in your Twitter feed. Fans are eagerly trying to make their voices heard. Hoping someone will listen and save the Supernatural spin-off.

Netflix has been suggested by many fans, along with other networks, but the streaming giants are actually a great place for the spin-off to go.
Netflix is in the right position to pick up Wayward Sisters
You might not be aware of this but Netflix already has a contract/deal with The CW. Agreements are in place that CW shows are available to stream via Netflix shortly after being aired.

So if they already have an agreement between them, it surely wouldn’t be that much harder to broker a further deal to take over Wayward Sisters. It would certainly be a lot easier than it moving to another network that The CW doesn’t currently have an agreement with.
Crossovers would still be possible
It wouldn’t be a perfect situation. One of the big appeals about Wayward Sisters was the possibilities of crossovers with Supernatural. This would be harder to do with the spin-off on a different network. Difficult yes, not impossible.
It would be easier for crossovers with Supernatural if it was on Netflix however than a different network, say for example NBC, on account of competing networks. Netflix relies on their subscription fees rather than from advertisers.
Ideally, we would all rather have The CW reverse the decision they made but I think if that was going to happen we would have heard by now. The best case scenario is Wayward finds a new home and Netflix would be an ideal choice.
