It’s all about the renewal and cancellation news right now. While we wait for The CW to move onto the pilots, it’s worth looking at what the cancellations of Valor and Life Sentence mean for Wayward Sisters.

We’re still waiting extremely impatiently for The CW to make a decision on Wayward Sisters. The Supernatural spin-off is possibly the best pilot with a strong fanbase already and there’s still no news on it. At least, there’s not at the time of writing this. It looks like The CW is still looking at the cancellations and renewals of current shows before moving onto pilots.

There’s just one current show left open for renewal or cancellationiZombie. All the rest have been decided on and there are only two leaving the network: Valor and Life Sentence. Neither shows are surprising, as the ratings were low, but now the question is what the cancellations mean for Wayward Sisters. Is this a sign The CW is making way for the spin-off focusing on strong, independent, and inspirational women?

Two spaces opened up

One thing to note is that two shows being canceled means that two spaces have opened up in the show lineup. This means two shows can take its place. There are a few strong contenders for these two spots, including Wayward Sisters, the Charmed reboot, and the untitled spin-off of The Vampire Diaries and The Originals.

However, it’s more than just two spaces that have opened. At least four more spaces opened with the move to a 6-night primetime lineup. Sundays could hold four more shows with the right scheduling and planning.

It certainly looks like the cancellations of the two shows is opening the way for more pilots to be picked up. The CW will have an idea of the shows that may do well and Wayward Sisters just has to be one of them. With potentially six spots open, there is plenty of room for all the pilots already mentioned and more.
