Supernatural Season 13, Episode 19 photos show Death is back
Rowena isn’t the only one back for Supernatural Season 13, Episode 19. Lisa Berry’s Death also makes an appearance in the photos for the episode.
The Supernatural Season 13, Episode 19 promo photos are out. They’re always a good way to get an idea of returning characters–unless The CW does what they did last week and release all the Charlie photos after the episode to avoid giving anything away!–and this week is certainly a case of that. We already knew Rowena was returning, but now we see that Death is back too.
Lisa Berry has taken over the role of Death and has now decided to stop going after the Winchesters. She knows they’re important, so sent a suicidal Dean back to Sam with the message that they have work to do. However, is she back to help them continue their roles in the universe or is time up?

The photos make it look like Death could be working both with and against Rowena. There’s a chance she’s watching just how far Rowena will go with Sam tied to a chair and then step in when necessary. Dean does look a little shocked at what he’s seeing in one of the photos, suggesting that Death and Rowena may be on the same side.
Is this what Sam was needed for after all and is this somehow linked to Lucifer?

It will be interesting to see who Rowena is holding the knife at. This is a woman on a mission to get revenge against Lucifer. She wants to feel safe after seeing his true face and knows that Sam has seen it too. She may need him for some sort of spell against Sam, which Dean will never let happen. Rowena holding the knife up to threaten Dean as he tries to save Sam makes perfect sense, but so does Rowena protecting herself from Death with it.
There are plenty of questions about the next episode, especially Rowena’s wishes and whether we’ll see what her Level Up spell did to her. Hopefully, these promo photos are hints that we’ll get to see.
