Eric Kripke shares Supernatural inspiration he’s working on now

Supernatural creator Erick Kripke shares his most recent project with the world and what was some of his inspiration for Supernatural.
What gave Eric Kripke the inspiration to create Supernatural, a show that has been going for 13 long and beautiful years, has always been a mystery to me. Something must have given him that creative spark to create Sam and Dean and the world of Supernatural.
Well, we have some idea now as Kripke shared via Twitter about a book that he read when was only 10 years old and how that was part of his inspiration for the longest-running CW show. Even better, the man is now involved in turning this book into a movie. It must feel like Christmas has come early for him.

The House with a Clock in Its Walls
Written by John Bellairs and published in 1973, “The House with a Clock in Its Walls” is a gothic style horror story intended for children. It follows the story of orphan Lewis Barnavelt, who moves to New Zebedee, Michigan to live with his Uncle Jonathan Barnavelt. Uncle Barnavelt happened to be a well-intentioned but mediocre warlock with his neighbor and good friend Florence Zimmermann a much more powerful and good witch.

The house they live in was formerly owned by a couple who delved in black magic. Before they died they embedded a clock within the walls of a house. This clock eternally ticks and tries to pull the world into magical alignment, a.k.a doomsday.
A series of events then follow, with Lewis trying to make a friend but unintentionally raising the former dark magic owner of the house, taking Lewis on a journey where he must summon up the courage and help stop her from bringing the world to an end.
The House with a Clock in Its Walls movie adaptation
Kripke is involved in the movie adaptation of the book as a writer, with Eli Roth as director and Nathan Barr as composer. Featuring Jack Black as Uncle Barnavelt and Cate Blanchett as Mrs Zimmerman the movie has recently released a feature-length trailer showing what adventures lie ahead.
