If it wasn’t enough with Michael and a certain archangel returning to Supernatural, now another troublesome angel is going to return.

We can’t say the showrunners, Andrew Dabb and Robert Singer, didn’t warn us. Supernatural has certainly brought back plenty of previously dead characters. While we’ve had one favorite (Kevin) return, most of the others have been angels that we could have done without. Well, okay, Apocalypse Michael has had his moments and it will be exciting to see where that storyline goes, but there’s a particular angel we’re not too sure we ever wanted to see return.

That particular angel is going to appear in Supernatural Season 13, Episode 14; the episode to end this mini-Hellatus.

Chad Rook shared on Twitter earlier today that he was making his way back to Supernatural. He’s been in two episodes before, but he isn’t going to return as either of those characters. This returning member of the family will take up the role of a much-hated angel: Zachariah. Yes, the angel who wanted the apocalypse to happen. It looks like he’ll be happy that he’s got his way.

Rook’s previous roles on the series were minor compared to Zachariah. In Season 6 he played Marshall Todd, one of Eve’s test victims, and in Season 8 he played Desmond, a vampire.

It’s hard to overlook Rook in army combats in “Good Intentions.” Angels have always been considered soldiers in an army, but this is taking that connection one step further.

As fans will know, Apocalypse Bobby his making his return in the coming episode. Images of the episode hint that Mary and Jack will escape Apocalypse Michael and run into the loveable hunter. This could be when Zachariah turns up, based on the settings within the images. Of course, Apocalypse Bobby could turn up just in time to save Mary and Jack from Apocalypse Zachariah.

Meanwhile, Sam and Dean will clearly learn that Donatello is betraying them. It’s possible that they’re not going to blame him, as they try to figure out why he’s relaying information back to Asmodeus.

Here’s a selection of images from the upcoming episode.
