Wayward Sisters will get a backdoor pilot during Supernatural’s midseason return, but that’s not the only potential crossover in the spin-off’s future.

In an interview with Collider, both actors expressed that they were open to doing crossover episodes and guest starring in Wayward Sisters if the spin-off gets picked up to series with Padalecki citing that they “obviously are buddies with all the crossover gangs here” and that it appeals to him as a part of the SPN family:

"Now that [Supernatural is] fleshed out I kind of become a fan of Supernatural, and as a fan of Supernatural I would love to help it keep going with the Wayward Sisters and vice versa, and have them come back to our show."

Ackles added that it would be great for both shows and the fans in particular:

"There’s a reason that this is hinging around them, because they were [fan] favorite characters on the show. I know they’re favorite guests of ours, and when they get to come on the show it’s really fun for us. So in order to kind of keep that alive and keep those family ties alive, I would absolutely encourage those crossovers."

The fact that Padalecki and Ackles are both self-proclaimed fans of the show should go a long way in assuring fans of Supernatural’s future. CW president Mark Pedowitz has said that the “show will go on as long as it keeps going, the boys (stars Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles) keep doing it and the ratings keep holding.”

The show’s ratings are one of the more, well, supernatural occurrences on network TV so hearing (again, you can never hear it enough) that the actors are invested in the show and the success of its universe is heartening. That, combined with the fact next season would include a landmark 300th episode, all but assures we’re getting a season 14.
