Misha Collins is best known for his role of Castiel in Supernatural, but don’t miss these top performances.

While Supernatural fans will now know Misha Collins best for his role of the Winchesters’ best friend and angel Castiel, he has been in a number of TV shows and movies over the years. There is a certain movie that he wants people to forget about, but most others are fair game. Some stand out more than others.

This is an actor who can play loveable good guys and downright nasty bad guys. You’ll want to love him and support the character but find yourself unable to. Whether you want to see him in a full movie or a guest spot in a TV show, these are the top six Misha Collins performances you definitely do not want to miss.

More from Supernatural

#1. Alexis Drazen in 24

The first one to start with has to be one of his most well-known TV roles, Alexis Drazen in 24. This was in the very first season of the show in 2002 and he appeared in seven episodes, starting with the pilot. Alexis Drazen was the brother of Andre and son of Victor, and together they made up the Drazen syndicate.

Alexis was definitely not a good guy of the series, set up from the very first moment. His last appearance was in the season 1 finale.

A fun fact about the character: Alexis was born on January 24, 1967. He and Dean Winchester in Supernatural share a birthday, although Dean was born 12 years later!

#2. Eric Bragg in Charmed

One of Collins’ first ever roles was as Eric Bragg in Charmed. This was in the second season of the show, where he got to play a good guy and innocent in the series. His character managed to decode the Akashic Records, which foretold all the important events in the future. A species of demon known as The Collectors wanted the information, so attempted to extract that from his brain.

Luckily, Phoebe Halliwell was volunteering at the hospital Eric’s father was in at the time, so she bumped into Eric and got a premonition of his attack. He eventually lost memories of meeting Phoebe, although it can be assumed he eventually got them back.

A fun fact about the character: Eric said that Phoebe was an angel, but she told him she could introduce him to one if he’d like. Of course, Supernatural fans now know Collins as the angel.

#3. Vlad in CSI: Crime Scene Investigation

A few years after playing Alexis Drazen, Collins went onto play another bad guy called Vlad, a receptionist at a hair salon. Complete with Russian accent, it turns out that Vlad is involved in the covering up of two female deaths. There is no remorse, as he explains the girls were already dead so there was nothing he could do.

Fun fact about the character: One of the girls he buried was named Melton. Supernatural had a certain red-haired angel named Anna Melton in season 4.

#4. Morton Brite in CSI: New York

After his appearance in the original CSI, Collins went on to appear as a guest star in the second spin-off series set in New York. His character, Morton Brite, was the manager of a rental building where not just one person had been killed, but two. Brite was the main suspect in the first death and quickly reminded the investigators of that.

It’s another case of playing the bad guy, making it very clear that Collins could do both roles perfectly. He also had the chance to look like the good guy for a while, before using the look in his eyes to make it clear that he was the one they were after. The smile on his face is very reminiscent of Castiel in the Supernatural season 6 finale when the Leviathans take over.

#5. Justin Ferris in NCIS

From CSI to NCIS, Collins played the role of Justin Ferris. The character was introduced at the very start of the episode, driving alongside two women. As the two women chat about Ferris checking one of them out, they find a bloodied women in the back of his car.

It doesn’t take long for them to find Ferris and start questioning him. In fact, the character turns himself in and admits to Grand Theft Auto, which Gibbs believes is an attempt to avoid kidnapping and murder charges. While a dirt bag, Collins’ character does eventually prove that he didn’t actually do it.

Fun fact about the role: Collins isn’t the only Supernatural actor to get a guest role on the show. Just recently NCIS had a Supernatural crossover you never knew you wanted.

#6. Officer Franklin in the TSA America series

Collins was involved in the production of a number of shorts in the TSA America series. He played the role of Officer Franklin, a strict, comedic TSA agent. The idea of the shorts was to show some of the lack of effect TSA agents have in airports, and was created when TSA was still new.

This is a series of shorts that you can now find on YouTube. Collins has discussed them at comic-cons in the past, especially one called Suspicious Bulges.

Fun fact about the shorts: Suspicious Bulges involves Supernatural’s Jensen Ackles’ wife, Danneel Harris Ackles. She was pregnant at the time of filming.
